After Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Torino, AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes the next three games will be crucial if his side want to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Rossoneri needed a strike from Luca Antonelli to see off Torino at the San Siro to move up to sixth in the Serie A league table with 47 points after 27 games, six points behind third-placed Roma, who occupy the final Champions League berth.
Milan face Sassuolo, Chievo and Lazio in the next month, with all three teams below them in the standings, and Mihajlovic feels he and his team will be up for the fight to stay in the European qualification hunt.
Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia after Saturday’s win: “We deserved the win, even if we suffered a little too much.
“What was fundamental was having the right attitude, everyone being ready to fight hard and work for the result. If we want to climb the table then we have to continue like this.
“Over the next three matches we’ll find out if we can really fight for third place or not. I believe and so do the lads.”
