Laursen extends PSV stay

PSV have confirmed that Danish winger Nikolai Laursen has extended his stay at the club for a further two years.

The 18-year old joined the Eredivisie champions from Brondby last summer on a three-year contract, but after impressing Phillip Cocu and the technical staff in training the Denmark U17 international has been rewarded with an improved deal that runs until 2020.

Laursen will undoubtedly be happy with the faith the Rood-witten have shown in him, especially after suffering a serious ankle injury shortly after joining the Dutch giants.

PSV technical director Marcel Brands confirmed with deal on the club's official website; "When he signed his contract last summer, PSV and the player agreed to extend his contract with an additional two years, as soon as Laursen had turned 18.

"He gained first-team action with the team in the pre-season campaign, but was sidelined with an ankle injury for some months, but he's returned to full fitness."

Laursen has yet to make his debut for PSV since his £975,000 transfer and will be hoping to earn his place in Cocu's starting eleven after overcoming his injury troubles.
