Hits and misses in the AFC Champions League

The AFC Champions League returned to our screens this week and there was plenty of action on Match Day One.

If you have missed any of the action or you just want to relive what happened during the week, we have put together a clip of a couple of moments that stood out.

FC Seoul’s Brazilian forward Carlos Adriano was undoubtedly the star of the show in the Korean club’s 6-0 victory over Thailand’s Buriram United, scoring four goals and assisting one before leaving the pitch to a standing ovation.

Another Korean side, Suwon Blue Wings played out a 0-0 draw with Japanese rivals Gamba Osaka, but the match could have been so much better for Seo Jung-won’s side had Kwon Changhoon not hit the post.

Chinese international Ji Xiang, meanwhile, scored Jiangsu FC’s first goal of the season when Dan Petrescu’s side played out a 1-1 draw with Binh Duong.

Urawa Red Diamonds got their campaign off to a winning start, beating FC Sydney 2-0. Japanese international Muto Yuki scored the first goal whilst a late own goal put the result beyond question.

The final name on our list is Ricardo Goulart, who played a key role for Guangzhou Evergrande last season. The 2016 event hasn’t started so well for the Brazilian though, as he missed a glorious opportunity to score the winner against Pohang Steelers, as Luis Felipe Scolari’s men drew 0-0 against their Korean opponents.
