Ezequiel Lavezzi has taken to social media to express his support of former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Serge Aurier.
The Ivory Coast international is in hot water after using homophobic slurs to insult manager Laurent Blanc and teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 23-year-old full-back has since been suspended and fined by the Parisian club for his comments and has apologised to the club and their fans. He met with club officials on Monday to discuss his sanctions further.
Lavezzi, who recently hopped on the Chinese football gravy train, took to Twitter to comfort the young defender.
“We all make mistakes,” the Argentine winger wrote. “The important thing is to fix them, grow and make the necessary apologies, which Serge did. I’m with you.”
Lavezzi swapped Paris for Heibei China Fortune earlier this month, where he is set to earn around £400,000 a week.
