Pep Guardiola believes David Alaba will become an all-time great at Bayern München amid reports linking him with a move to Manchester City.
The Austria international has developed into a key figure at the club since joining from Austria Vienna as a 16-year-old in 2008.
He has made a name for himself as the ultimate utility-man, having featured as a left-back, centre mid and central defender under Guardiola in recent seasons.
With Guardiola set to join Manchester City at the end of the season, recent speculation suggests the Spanish tactician could poach Alaba in the off-season.
However, the former Barcelona boss believes Alaba’s future lies at Bayern München, saying: “Alaba will enter the history books as one of the best players to have ever played for Bayern in 10 years’ time or so.
“He is incredibly passionate and he can pretty much play in every position across the pitch.”
