Full report

The first half was closely contested affair that produced very little in the way of goalmouth action, although Bologna looked more likely to break the deadlock.

The Old Lady produced just two efforts on goal, both coming from full-back Patrice Evra. However, the Frenchman failed to hit the target on both occasions, first heading wide before firing over the bar following a set-piece situation on the half-hour mark.

For Bologna, meanwhile, Saphir Taïder fired high and wide from outside the box, while Mattia Destro saw his goal-bound effort on 21 minutes kept out by Gianluigi Buffon in the Juventus goal.

Godfred Donsah also went close to firing the host ahead, but shot wide of the mark from the centre of the box when it would have been easier to score.

The second half offered up more in the way of goal-scoring chances, with Bologna again edging their opponents.

Emanuele Giaccherini and Amadou Diawara fired wide of the mark for the hosts in the opening five minutes, while at the opposite end of the pitch, Paul Pogba squandered two good opportunities.

Destro had another chance to get on the scoresheet in the 75th minute, but fired over direct from a free-kick, while Giaccherini shot high and wide five minutes later after being teed up by Franco Brienza.

The last chance of the match fell to Álvaro Morata three minutes from time, but the Italy international failed to capitalise as his shot from the right-hand side of the box flew just wide of the post.
