Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that manager Laurent Blanc has extended his contract with the Ligue 1 leaders for a further two years.
Les Parisiens beat Lyon on Wednesday evening to extend their winning streak to 16 matches and they have duly rewarded Blanc a new deal, underlining his importance to the club.
“I thank the club for their confidence,” the 50-year old told the club’s official website. “I’m honoured to work for such an ambitious club, managing such talented players.
“It’s a big show of confidence and I’m delighted with that. The club is ambitious and we’ll do everything to reach our goals.”
PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi added: “I’m extremely proud and happy that Laurent Blanc continues with our club. In three years with us he has won trophies, beaten records. All the signs were pointing to choosing stability.”
Blanc has overseen a staggering 111 wins in 151 games since his appointment at Parc des Princes in 2013 and is on course to guide PSG to their third successive Ligue 1 title this season.
