VfB Stuttgart head coach Alexander Zorniger is hopeful his injury-depleted squad will rise to the challenge against Leverkusen this weekend.
Die Schwaben will look to build on their first home win of the season when they visit Die Werkself at BayArena on Saturday.
However, they will have to do without six first-team stars as Serey Die serves suspension, while Christian Gentner, Daniel Ginczek, Filip Kostic, Mitch Langerak and Robbie Kruse are all out through injury.
Zorniger says the squad will quickly have to come to terms with their absentees and is hoping that those that do play, take their chance to impress.
"We always play the same way and the four points we’ve earned recently were secured in this constellation," he told the club's official website.
"Those players are basically the lads who will be on the pitch in Leverkusen. I’d love to have all the injured players back, but we must and will come to terms with the circumstances.
"I firmly hope the players who are involved will rise to the challenge and take on the resulting responsibility."
