Coentrao set for injury lay-off

Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim is set to be without Fabio Coentrao for an extended spell after he sustained a fractured ankle on Saturday.

The on-loan Real Madrid left-back was forced off after just 12 minutes of the Ligue 1 clash at Stade Louis II, which saw the hosts win 1-0 courtesy of Tiemoue Bakayoko's 81st-minute goal.

The Principality outfit are still waiting on the results of scans on the injury, but they expect Coentrao to be unavailable for a number of weeks, starting with the Coupe de France tie at Sochaux on Tuesday.

The Portugal international has started 13 of his 14 league games for Jardim's side this term since his move from Spain, finding the back of the net on three occasions.
