Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is understood to be on the verge of moving to Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.
Lavezzi’s current contract with the reigning Ligue 1 champions will expire at the end of this season and despite being linked with a move to Chelsea and Inter Milan during the January transfer window, it appears as if the 30-year-old is likely to head to China.
With Lavezzi on the brink of completing his move to Shanghai for a fee that is estimated to be worth €5 million, Paris Saint-German left him out of their squad for their clash with Marseille on Sunday.
Lavezzi has represented Paris Saint-German in 24 games in all competitions this season, but has failed to have an impact as he has only scored three goals with one assist.
Should the Argentina international join Shanghai, he will become the latest high-profile player to ply his trade in the Chinese Super League, following in the footsteps of Ramires, Jackson Martinez and Alex Teixeira.
