Wenger hails Arsenal’s ‘perfect week’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised his squad after capping off 'a perfect week' with a 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday.

Having beaten Bayern 2-0 earlier in the week to keep their hopes of making the Champions League knockout stage alive, the Gunners followed up on that result with another victory at the Emirates to move two points clear at the summit of the Premier League table ahead of Sunday's round of fixtures.

The Frenchman has now called on his players to continue their good form and has stressed the importance of not getting carried away with the results.

"It is a perfect week," said Wenger in his post match press conference. "We have to keep the concentration, the togetherness and the humility.

"When you win such a big game like they did on Tuesday it shows a lot about the mentality of your team. That's why I'm very proud of my team because they've shown the ability to refocus."
