BVB Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel claims Adnan Januzaj wasn’t successful in Germany because he wasn’t able to fully leave Manchester United behind.
The 20-year-old joined Dortmund on loan at the start of the season, but made just six substitute appearances in five months before his spell was cut short and he returned to England in January.
Januzaj has only made one appearance for United since returning to Old Trafford, coming off the bench in the Red Devil’s 1-0 loss to Southampton in the Premier League last month.
The young attacker arrived in Germany amongst much hype, but failed to impress and Tuchel questioned his commitment to Dortmund.
“A part of him was always still in Manchester and we just couldn’t help him cut this umbilical cord,” Tuchel told FourFourTwo.
“He didn’t wholly embrace Borussia. He always compared everything with how it had been at United.”
