Bayern München midfielder Arturo Vidal has come out swinging after confirming he will be taking legal action against Bild for reporting lies about him.
The German tabloid made claims on Wednesday that the Chile international had reported for training during Bayern’s mid-season camp in Qatar smelling of alcohol.
According to the newspaper, Vidal got smashed during the trip to the Middle-East and was accused of being overweight.
The 28-year-old has hit back, though, insisting the reports are nothing but lies and revealed his legal team will taking the matter further.
“I would like to say that the ‘news’ published today in a German newspaper are absolutely false,” he wrote on Instagram.
“My lawyers have been already instructed to initiate a legal claim against the newspaper, which will be responsible for their lies.
“I’m 100% committed to my team and preparing the rest of the season that will be very important for all of us.
“Thanks to my club for their support and also thanks to all my fans that show me all their love as always.”
