Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was “very pleased” with his team’s performance in their 3-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Tuesday.
Dele Alli opened the scoring as early as the second minute, with Harry Kane adding a penalty on the half-hour mark before bagging his second in the 90th minute.
“The effort was fantastic,” Pochettino said. “The early goal helped us and in the end we deserved the result and we need to feel proud of the players for the job they did.
“The performance was fantastic from the beginning. In football you always need to show you want to win from the beginning. This was our plan, to be aggressive from the first ball and after that, the team showed maturity and consistency.
“Sometimes you need to play a different way in the same game. It’s true, the clean sheet was very important for us and the way we played the second half was fantastic.
“We are still very young but in the way we improve I think we need to feel proud. It’s important to show the maturity that the team showed today.”
Spurs are now up to third in the Premier League standings and have won their last three on the trot, scoring 10 goals in the process, putting them in good form ahead of Watford’s visit to White Hart Lane on Saturday.
