Borussia MG striker Josip Drmic has joined Bundesliga rivals Hamburg on loan until the end of the season in the hope of securing more game time.
The off-season signing from Bayer Leverkusen has struggled to establish himself at Borussia-Park, with the majority of his 19 appearances coming from the bench.
HSV head coach Bruno Labbadia has offered Drmic a lifeline by bringing the Switzerland international to the Volksparkstadion for the remainder of the campaign.
The 23-year-old striker is keen to make an impact for Die Rothosen as he looks to cement a place in the Swiss squad for Euro 2016.
“For me it’s a new challenge,” Drmic told his new club’s official website upon signing the loan deal.
“I’m looking forward to playing again and I hope to make a difference as soon as possible. I’m highly motivated and ready for the job ahead at HSV.”
