Former Italy captain and Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Fabio Cannavaro has been named head coach of Al Nassr.
Cannavaro, who parted was with Guangzhou in June after seven months at the helm, will take charge of the Saudi Arabian champions until the end of the season.
The 42-year-old replaces Jorge da Silva, who was sacked following Friday's 1-0 home defeat to Al Shabab in the Crown Prince Cup. Al Nassr are currently languishing in seventh spot on the Pro League table.
World Cup-winner Cannavaro has previously served as first team coach at Al Ahli, before moving to China to take charge of Guangzhou. The Southern China Tigers were top of the Chinese Super League standings and had progressed to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League when he was replaced by Luiz Felipe Scolari.
