Former Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has rated Roma as Serie A favourites this season after they shot to the top of the league standings.
A 2-1 win over Fiorentina at the weekend saw the Giallorossi displace the Viola as league leaders with a two-point lead over the side from Florence, as well as Napoli, Inter Milan and Lazio, who are all on 18 points.
"Roma had a very brave performance in the first half, and a very shrewd one once they found themselves ahead," Prandelli, who has managed both the Roman and Florentine clubs, told Calciomercato.
"They confirmed the impression I've had in recent weeks: in terms of the depth of their squad, and the quality of their players, they're best placed to win this League.
"They still have problems in terms of their defensive balance, as also seen in the latest Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen, but I think that's also down to the qualities of the players they use in defence and midfield, all with a clear offensive mentality."
Roma will now look to maintain their advantage in their next match against Udinese at Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, when the rest of the chasing pack will also be in action.
