Eredivisie round-up

On an action packed evening in the Eredivisie on Tuesday, AZ Alkmaar powered to a 3-1 win over Cambuur at AFAS Stadion.

It was an excellent opening half for the hosts as Vincent Janssen netted on either side of a Joris van Overeem goal to all but secure the result in the opening 20 minutes.

Martijn Barto netted a mere consolation for Cambuur in the 72nd minute, but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Over at Goffertstadion, NEC extended their unbeaten run to five games following a 2-0 victory over FC Twente.

The hosts had to wait until the 75th minute to find a breakthrough, but took the lead through Anthony Limbombe.

Christian Santos doubled the advantage with two minutes remaining to secure the three points.

Elsewhere, De Graafschap battled back from a 1-0 deficit at half-time to beat Ado Den Haag 3-1 at Stadion De Vijverberg.

Mike Havenaar had the visitors ahead in just the ninth minute, but goals from Vincent Vermeij, Karim Tarfi and Cas Peters after the interval ensured De Graafschap would take the win.

PSV Eindhoven closed the gap to league leaders Ajax to just one point following a comprehensive 3-1 win over Excelsior Rotterdam at Stadion Woudestein.

Luuk de Jong opened the scoring in the eighth minute, before teeing up Jorrit Hendrix three minutes into the second half.

Luciano Narsingh added a third in the 59th minute, before Jeffrey Bruma netted an unfortunate own goal to give Excelsior a late consolation in the 90th minute.

In the final game of the day, Vitesse Arnhem played out a 1-1 draw with PEC Zwolle at the GelreDome.

Vitesse took the lead in the 65th minute thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Bram van Polen, but Dirk Marcellis netted just three minutes later to earn PEC a draw.
