Crystal Palace completed the signing of free agent Emmanuel Adebayor until the end of the season, the club confirmed on Tuesday evening.
The 31-year-old was released by Tottenham Hotspur in September and turned down the chance to sign for Aston Villa in the summer.
Adebayor passed a medical with the Eagles on Tuesday morning, having maintained his fitness levels with a personal trainer.
Speaking to Crystal Palace's official website, the former Arsenal and Manchester City striker said: "I have been working out every day and played a lot of games in Africa. It is not the same level, but the way I played it I played as if I was playing in the Premier League.
"Maybe Saturday, maybe Tuesday night, maybe next weekend, we will all know where I am.
"Is it going to be hard? I don't think so. I just have to get out there, play my football and enjoy myself again," he added.
Crystal Palace next face Stoke City in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
