Hamsik wary of Juventus

Napoli captain Marek Hamsik has warned against righting off Juventus' chances of defending the Scudetto and has called on his side to maintain their consistency.

The Partenopei are just two points off table-toppers Roma 10 games into the new campaign and are nine above defending champions Juve, who are in 12th following a stuttering start to the season.

However, the Slovakia international has refused to rule out the Bianconeri's chances of claiming a fourth straight Serie A title, stressing they have to maintain their current form if they are to have any chance of beating their rivals to the Scudetto.

"I don't think Juventus are out of contention," Hamsik is quoted as saying by Football Italia.

"I don't think so, but right now they're behind and that's good for us. Roma have a great team too. You need consistency to win the Scudetto, and we're showing that.

"The important thing is to stay close to the top. We're having fun, as are the fans.

"Can we win it? I don't know, we're enjoying the moment. We've had 10 games, we'll talk about it after 30 if the situation is still the same.

"Myself, [Coach Maurizio] Sarri and everyone else thinks that way, now we're thinking about the next game. We're preparing for the game with Genoa, it won't be easy."
