PSV recorded a crucial 4-2 victory over Twente on Sunday, while there were also wins for AZ Alkmaar, Utrecht and Den Haag.
Jari Oosterwijk opened the scoring for Twente in the eighth minute of the game against PSV at the Philips Stadion. Thereafter, two goals in as many minutes from Hector Moreno saw PSV storm into the lead before Luciano Narsingh made it 3-1 for the hosts with his goal in the 37th minute. Chinedu Ede reduced PSV’s lead when he hit the back of the net in the 69th minute. Only for Florian Jozefzoon to restore the two-goal cushion ten minutes later. The final ten minutes came and went without incident and PSV ended 4-2 victors. They are now three points behind Ajax at the summit of the Eredivisie.
AZ Alkmaar shocked Feyenoord 4-2 at the AFAS Stadion. After conceding early when
Michiel Kramer scored, the home side then netted four unanswered goals which included a sublime hatrick from Vincent Janssen. Tonny Vilhena pulled one back for De Trots van Zuid but it was never going to be enough and Alkmaar cruised to an impressive win.
A late goal from Ruud Boymans saw Utrecht take the spoils against Zwolle at the Stadion Galgenwaard.
In Sunday’s late kick-off, it was Den Haag who claimed all three points in their clash with Cambuur at the Kyocera Stadion. Canbuur assumed a 1-0 lead when Sander van de Streek got his name on the score sheet. However, a second-half brace from Mike Havenaar secured a 2-1 win for The Residention Club.
