Barcelona winger Cristian Tello will be spending the year in Italy on loan with Fiorentina, once his current loan deal with FC Porto is rescinded.
The 24-year-old came through the Catalan club’s youth system and has been on the fringes of the first team since 2011, but with only 59 appearances under his belt he moved to Portugal on loan.
Tello managed eight goals in 33 appearances for Porto, but his form dipped following the sacking of manager Julen Lopetegui, and he will now try his luck in Serie A.
“With this new loan, ACF Fiorentina will take over the conditions of the agreement between FC Barcelona and FC Porto,” his new club said in an official statement.
The Spaniard will be hoping to make his Serie A debut when the Viola face Torino at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday.
