Genoa have finally struck a deal to take Alessio Cerci on loan for the remainder of the season after protracted talks with Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.
The 28-year-old winger was serving an 18-month loan spell at Milan, but failed to make an impact for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side during the first year.
Rossoblu president Enrico Preziosi was engaged in lengthy discussions with Cerci’s parent club, Atletico and the Rossoneri before an agreement could be reached.
The Italy international will spend the next six months at Stadio Luigi Ferraris before returning to the Spanish capital, where he has a year remaining on his contract.
Cerci will be available to make his debut for the Liguria outfit on Sunday when they travel to Verona, with the club confirming his arrival on Twitter.
The message read: “#Cerci Is a new player of GenoaCFC . The winger comes temporarily from Milan.”
