Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has insisted Anwar El Ghazi will not leave the club this month amid rumoured interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
El Ghazi was signed by Ajax in 2013. During the 2014/15 pre-season, El Ghazi scored eight goals in 150 minutes. Thereafter, he broke into the first team and has been mightily impressive since as he scored 10 goals last season and has already recorded eight this season.
There were reports that Liverpool and Manchester United were preparing serious bids for the prodigy but Overmars dismissed these as mere speculation, confirming that El Ghazi will remain at Ajax.
"The player is not for sale and no club has come forward in a concrete way for El Ghazi with an economic offer," Overmars said.
