Valencia manager Gary Neville has spoken about his decision to replace Dani Parejo with Paco Alcacer as the club's captain going forward.
The change comes after a run of poor results which has seen Neville yet to win a La Liga match.
Speaking after Los Che's 1-1 Copa del Rey draw with Las Palmas, Neville said: "I discussed it with Dani over these last couple of weeks and we came to the decision together."
The new captain Alcacer equalised for Valencia midway through the second half following Zahibo's own goal on 38 minutes.
The English manager quickly insisted that the decision had not affected his relationship with Parejo.
"If there was a problem between the two of us then he would not have played tonight and you would not have seen that performance from him. I thought he was our best player," Neville concluded.
Next up for 11th-placed Valencia is a trip to Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga on Sunday.
