BVB Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is aiming to emulate the exploits of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo after making a flying start to the season.
The Gabon international has been in fine fettle for Die Borussen this term, netting 13 goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances.
Added to that, the 26-year-old currently tops the European goal-scoring charts with 20 to his name in all competitions, putting him ahead perennial leaders Messi and Ronaldo.
And, Aubameyang hopes to continue his early-season form and match the performances of the aforementioned duo.
"It is something I really want to achieve. To be the greatest, Ronaldo and Messi can score three in one game and four the next day," Aubameyang told Telefoot.
"I have already experienced one stage with [Jurgen] Klopp, but I am trying to have a new one with [Thomas] Tuchel back in the middle."
The former Saint-Étienne frontman admits he expects defenders to give him special attention now that he is enjoying a rich vein of form, but is unperturbed nonetheless.
He added: "Of course defenders will start asking more questions of you. All those who thought Aubameyang was only about running or athletic ability were wrong.
"I was born for this, and ever since childhood I have set myself goals."
