Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has suggested that Anthony Caceres is one for the future after admitting the new signing is likely to be loaned out straight away.
City had been in talks with Central Coast Mariners, who revealed earlier this month they had agreed a fee with their Premier League counterparts for the 23-year-old playmaker.
The A-League club confirmed on Friday that a deal had been struck with the Citizens, although Pellegrini reckons Caceres will gain first-team experience elsewhere for the second half of the season.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the home clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday the Chilean said: “He will probably go on loan, he’s not part of this squad at this moment.
“It’s something the club always does thinking about the future.”
