Athletic Bilbao head coach Ernesto Valverde was full of confidence after his side advanced in the Copa del Rey and claims he would prefer to play against Barcelona quarter-finals.
Inaki Williams' neat finish in the 21st minute proved to be the dfferrence between the two teams in a hotly-contested affair.
When asked which opponent he would like to face in the quarter-finals, Valverde gave a surprising answer considering the potential opponents they could face.
"I'd prefer to play Barca. We've played them a lot and we know what they can produce," he told AS.
"I'm satisfied to go through and with how we played. We played a serious game. It was a close match and we wanted to dominate it and I think we did.
"The idea was to score and not concede. It went well and in the end we got through, which is what we wanted."
The Catalans cruised into the next round with a comfortable 2-0 win over Espanyol and will be joined in the draw for the final eight of the competition by Segunda Division side Mirandes, as well as Valencia, Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Las Palmas.
The draw for the next round will take place on Friday.
