Bayern München midfielder Arjen Robben has taken one step closer to making his comeback from a muscular injury after he started training on Wednesday.
Robben has been sidelined ever since he sustained the injury during Bayern’s 4-0 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League on November 24. The Bundesliga club were hoping that the 31-year-old would make a quick recovery, but that wasn’t the case as Robben missed his side’s matches against Hertha Berlin, Borussia MG, Dinamo Zagreb, FC Ingolstadt and Darmstadt.
While Robben is edging closer to making his return, the Netherlands international is unlikely to feature in Bayern’s Bundesliga clash with Hannover 96 on Saturday.
Bayern currently sit on top of the Bundesliga standings with a five-point lead as they have won 14 of their 16 matches so far.
