Thursday evening signaled the end of Guangzhou Evergrande's bid to lift the FIFA Club World Cup as they were knocked out of the competition by a Barcelona side that consisted of the likes of Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Dani Alves and Luis Suarez.
It was the latter who scored all three goals for the reigning European Champions who will now play River Plate of Argentina in the final on Sunday.
Speaking to FIFA's official website after the game Scolari said: "We may have lost, but there is no shame in losing 3-0 to Barcelona… Tonight, we showed great effort, great determination and we are learning all the time.”
“Their style of football was a real lesson for us… They showed us how to play beautiful football; to be able to have time and space on the ball, to use it well and take chances."
The Chinease Super League side will now play Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan for third place. The game also takes place on Sunday at the International Stadium in Yokohama.
