Aston Villa have ended Aly Cissokho's Porto loan spell early as the club are struggling with left-back options.
After a season-long loan spell at Liverpool in the 2013-14 season, Cissokho signed a permanent deal with Villa last season and made 27 appearances for the club.
However, he was deemed surplus to requirements under Tim Sherwood and signed a season-long loan agreement with Porto, but he played only two Primeira Liga games for the Portuguese giants.
With Villa struggling at left-back following a long-term injury to first-choice Jordan Amavi, new Villa boss Remi Garde has decided to recall the 28-year-old, who played under him at Lyon.
Cissokho, though, will only be able to play in January.
