Barcelona forward Neymar has said that he did not hear any racist chants directed at him during his side's goalless draw with Espanyol on Saturday.
It has been reported that Neymar had been the victim of racist chants during the match, and Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta confirmed that he had heard them, saying that it started “in one corner, in the first half, from one supporter”.
However, defender Gerard Pique and Espanyol president Joan Collet denied having heard anything, with the latter saying: "I was there, just like 30,000 people and nothing happened."
Neymar has now weighed in on the matter and said that he had not heard any racist taunts during the Catalan derby.
"I did not hear the chants," Neymar was quoted as saying by La Sexta. "I do not hear things outside of the pitch. I only play football."
