There was no separating Mirandes and Deportivo La Coruna as they played out a 1-1 draw in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
- Ortiz opened the scoring
- Lopo equalised for visitors
Minnows Mirandes stunned Deportivo with the opening goal in the first leg of their last-16 encounter at Anduva.
Abdon Prats' cross found Alex Ortiz and the defender made no mistake, but La Liga outfit Deportivo got a crucial away goal when Alberto Lopo nodded home 15 minutes before the end.
It was a slow start to the game for both sides as they settled into the game and it was Mirandes who would craft, and squander, the first chance after Manu failed to clear.
However, they would not pass up another opportunity to take the lead when Alex Ortiz slotted home at the far post from a corner in the 25th minute.
As the half wore on, Deportivo grew into the game, but were unable to make the most of the two chances they managed to create.
Right after the break, Deportivo had an effort come off the cross bar with a shot from Jonathan Rodriguez.
After much pressing from the visitors, they finally levelled the scores in the 75th minute when Lopo headed home from a Miguel Cardoso cross.
