BVB Dortmund have revealed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang skipped training this week to attend the CAF Awards ceremony in Nigeria.
The Mali international was linked with an exit from Signal Iduna Park during this month's transfer window after he missed Dortmund's first training session of 2016.
Reports suggested Aubameyang was a target for Arsenal following an impressive first half of the season, where he scored 18 goals in just 17 Bundesliga appearances.
However, BVB have dispelled the rumours by confirming the 26-year-old striker is off to Abuja for the 24th edition of African football's prize-giving function.
"We have all our fingers crossed. And he will directly fly out to the training camp in Dubai after the ceremony," a statement from the German club read.
Aubameyang has been shortlisted for the CAF accolade alongside Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure and Swansea striker Andre Ayew.
