Napoli face a fight with Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United in a bid to secure the services of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
The Italy Under-21 international earned a move to the Serie A champions in the off-season after an impressive two-year spell with Empoli, where he played in all but two of their league games during that time.
However, Rugani has managed just a solitary appearance for Juve this term as the Scudetto holders have struggled to get going, winning five of their opening 12 matches to sit nine points off the pace in 10th.
Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to be reunited with the 21-year-old centre-back, having worked with him at Stadio Carlo Castellani before taking the job in Naples ahead of the new campaign, but his efforts have proved fruitless thus far.
The Gunners are also interested in the Empoli youth product and reports in Italy have suggested that United have joined the hunt for his signature.
The Bianconeri, though, are unlikely to sanction a permanent deal as they regard him to be "the future of Juventus", meaning Rugani will only be allowed to leave on loan.
