Frankfurt head coach Armin Veh was furious with his side and lambasted their display in last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Darmstadt.
The loss in the Hesse derby was a third successive loss for Frankfurt and saw them drop down into 13th in the Bundesliga standings.
They have also won just one of their last 12 league outings and Veh was not happy with what he has seen from his side.
"I'm furious," he told reporters after a training session in midweek. "There was 59 percent to 41 percent possession – and it was in favour of Darmstadt.
"We were the home team and I cannot accept that. I cannot understand it either. I would be ashamed.
"I don't want any more excuses. Darmstadt's Sandro Wagner is poking fun at us still.
"We need some new spirit within the side. The good thing is we still have enough time to make some changes."
