Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa is hoping to test his mettle against Premier League opposition in the next round of the Europa League.
Khouma Babacar struck in the 67th minute to secure a 1-0 victory over portuguese side Belenenses at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday, ensuring Viola follow FC Basel through to the Round of 32.
"I am satisfied because we got through the group and my squad proved itself to be competitive," Sousa told Sky Sport Italia. "In February the situation will be different and we'll see what happens.
"I'd like to face an English team in the next round and there are several that we could be paired with in the draw. I really like the atmosphere of playing in England and we will be competitive.
"Manchester United? It's great to play against these clubs and we want to honour the competition while giving the opportunity to those who don't play as much to get some minutes in their legs."
Fiorentina's potential English opposition for the next round includes the Red Devils, Tottenham and Liverpool, but they must first focus on a more familiar foe when they face Juventus in Serie A on Sunday.
"My job is all about emotions and excitement, so the game with Juve is just like any other," Sousa added, ahead of the match at Juventus Stadium. "The important thing is to be there."
