Guangzhou Evergrande goalkeeper Zeng Cheng has been named the Toyota Player of the Week after his fine performance in the AFC Champions League final first leg against Dubai side Al Ahli last week.
Zeng kept a clean sheet in the Rashid Stadium on Saturday as the Chinese Super League champions played out a 0-0 draw with the Emirati side and earned a rating of 7.0 on the Toyota rankings, the highest of the week.
The 2013 winners had arguably the better chances to attain the victory on Saturday through Zheng Zhi, Huang Bowen and substitute Yu Hanchao, but Zeng had arguably the biggest say in the final score after he had denied Ismail Al Hammadi and Everton Ribeiro with two key saves.
Zeng's opposite number Ahmed Mahmoud was in second place with a rating of 6.6 after he too impressed in goal, while Guangzhou defenders Feng Xiaoting and Mei Fang were in third and fourth, respectively, with ratings of 6.6 and 6.5.
Feng was successful with 31 of his 36 passes and won six individual duels while Mei completed 18 of his 21 passes.
The second leg of the AFC Champions League final takes place on November 21 at Guangzhou's Tianhe Sport Centre Stadium.
