Benzema to take legal action

Karim Benzema is set to file court papers against French radio station Europe 1 after they published incriminating extracts of phone taps involving the striker.

A formal judicial investigation was launched last week after an alleged attempt to use a sex tape to blackmail Benzema's France teammate, Mathieu Valbuena.

Cormier has professed Benzema's innocence on several occassions and revealed the forward's camp is unhappy with the clips the radio station decided to air as they did not paint a balanced picture.

"Which extracts were chosen? The worst," the forward's lawyer, Sylvain Cormier, told Europe 1 on Tuesday. "We're done playing now and we are announcing that we will file a complaint for violation of judicial confidentiality."
