VfL Wolfsburg defender Dante has ruled out leaving the club after a case of mistaken identity saw him linked with a transfer to Chelsea.
The former Bayern München centre-back had been touted to join the Blues this week after he supposedly said it would be a dream to play for Chelsea.
The 32-year-old, however, was left confused when a reporter asked him why he wanted to leave Die Wolfe just several months after joining from Bayern.
It turns out that Dante had been mistakenly attributed quotes from Mali U/17 skipper, and namesake, Abdoul Dante, who named Chelsea as a club he would like to join 'in a perfect world'.
"It's been difficult and confusing for me. I couldn't understand why people were calling me and asking about Chelsea," the Brazil international Dante said.
"I only left Bayern in the summer, I've got a three-year contract with Wolfsburg so I've nothing to look for. I don't know the other Dante but it's his dream, not mine!"
