Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is confident Louis van Gaal is the right manager to bring success back to the club.
Van Gaal has received severe criticsm of late for the style of football he has the Red Devils playing, but Herrera insists the club is in good hands.
"He's a very demanding person, very forward and very sincere, which I value a lot," Herrera told Catalunya Radio.
"To [the press], he might seem a bit tough, but I think he's a good guy and I think he wants what's best for the club.
"On a personal level, I have a very good relationship with him. I know he can look tough from outside the club, but from within, he's the right guy to help us improve."
The Spaniard also praised compatriot David de Gea, who signed a new four year contract with the club in September after his expected move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window never materialised.
"He's a genius. Purely on talent, I've never seen someone like him and we are lucky to have him," Herrera added.
"The talent he has, very few have it in the world and David is one of them. It's a blessing to have him close, and hopefully it will be for a long time."
