Philippines fall short against Yemen

The Philippines' chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup or the 2019 Asia Cup were dealt a significant blow after they lost 1-0 to Yemen on Thursday.

The result means the Philippines are in third place in Group H on seven points, having played two matches more than Uzbekistan in second on nine points and one more match than leader Korea DPR on 13.

Yemen remain rooted at the foot of the table with three points from their six matches to date.

The only goal of the game was scored in the 82nd minute by Ahmed Al Sarori.

They also had five shots on target to Yemen's three, but was continuously denied by the excellent Mohammed Ebrahim Ali in the Yemen goal.
