Captain Virat Kohli rued embarassment on behalf of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, after Sunday's dismal 82-run defeat at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League at Eden Gardens.
Chasing a modest 132-run target, Bangalore slumped to 49 all out – the lowest score in the 10-season history of the tournament.
"Probably our worst batting performance, if not the worst of all time in IPL. Very hurtful for me to stand here and talk," lamented Kohli.
"I thought we could capitalise and chase the score down. I can't really say anything now, because it was that bad. As professional cricketers, we are expected to do much better.
"Our performance was unacceptable. Disgraceful batting, reckless from us, one of the worst collapses ever."
Not one Royal Challengers batsman reached double figures, with Kedar Jadhav's nine the best of the bad bunch.
