Walsh confirmed as Bangaldesh bowling coach

The Bangladesh Cricket Board have confirmed the appointment of former West Indian fast bowler, Courtney Walsh, as their new bowling coach.

The 53-year-old has been serving on the West Indies selection panel but will take up his position with the BCB in the next few weeks.

Walsh has agreed terms on a three year contract, that runs until after the ICC World Cup in 2019.

The former quick replaces Zimbabwean Heath Streak who left the role earlier this year.

Commenting on his appointment, Walsh said: “Obviously the West Indies is my home, but the chance to go in a new direction in coaching at the international level with a talented group, was one opportunity I couldn’t let pass.”

Walsh took 519 Test wickets in a glittering career that spanned nearly two decades, and 132 Tests.
