Sri Lanka spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan is of the opinion that his country only has one bowler that could challenge Australia's batsmen, namely Rangana Herath, and that the rest of the attack is average.
Murali is Australia's spin consultant for their tour to his homeland this month, and is concerned that aside from spinner Herath, the Aussies will have little trouble against the young pace attack.
Murali said on the CA website: "Their main weapon is Rangana Herath. Other than that, they don't have any other bowler to get wickets for them.
"If Australia can exploit them and their bowlers keep playing well against them then they are a good chance."
Sri Lanka's bowlers were ineffective in their recent series against England, and while conditions at home are very different, the leading wicket-taker in Tests is hopeful, but not convinced, that will be enough.
He added: "These are different to any other wickets in the world.
"They've played their whole life here, so they'll give a better competition rather than in England.
"I think it will be a very good contest and who keeps the patience will have the series."
The first Test starts on 26 July at Pallekele.
