The West Indies have named a squad devoid of a few familiar names for the upcoming Test series against India, leaving Kemar Roach and Denesh Ramdin on the sidelines due to poor form.
Paceman Roach was dropped after a poor series against Australia last year, while Ramdin's exit confirmed his Twitter rant from a week ago, where he said the chairman had told him his average was not 'gud'.
Also missing is paceman Jerome Taylor, who has since confirmed his retirement from Tests, while Leon Johnson got a recall and spinning all-rounder Roston Chase got a maiden call up.
With Ramdin out of the squad, the wicketkeeping duties will be taken up by Shane Dowrich, who has played just two Tests, the last of which was in June last year.
Squad: Jason Holder (capt), Kraigg Brathwaite (vice-capt), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Rajendra Chandrika, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich (wk), Shannon Gabriel, Leon Johnson, Marlon Samuels
