Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq believes the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) will help the national side to do well at the upcoming World T20, which starts in India in March.
The inaugural PSL was won by Islamabad United on Tuesday with the 41-year-old Misbah leading the eventual champions to the maiden title by hitting the winning runs.
The veteran skipper feels the tournament can have the same impact as the Indian Premier League (IPL) had on their national side as well as the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Misbah told AFP: "I am sure the Pakistan Super League will help Pakistan players in the same manner as IPL did to Indians and BPL has done to Bangladesh players.
"Look at Bangladesh, they are rising high because of the BPL so we will also reap benefits of the PSL in the near future."
Pakistan, who won the World T20 in England in 2009, start the global event against a qualifier on 16 March in Kolkata.
