South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn will take his first steps to what he hopes will be a return to the national side by playing in a club game on Saturday.
The 32-year-old Steyn has not played any cricket since trudging off with a shoulder injury halfway through the Boxing Day Test against England in Durban.
The paceman was selected in the Proteas squad for the World T20 with the medical staff confident that he will play some part in the upcoming three-match T20 series at home against Australia.
Steyn's agent, Dave Rundle, told Club Cricket SA: "Dale will play for WPCC on Saturday. But he will only play the first day of the two-day fixture.
"He wants game time before the World T20, and this will provide him with that. He has all the necessary clearance needed to play."
South Africa's World T20 campaign kicks off against England in Mumbai on 15 March.
