Fabricio Werdum suffered an ugly knock-out defeat at the hands of Alexander Volkov at UFC London on the weekend however the former heavyweight belt holder has issued a statement articulating his desire to make amends for the loss.
Since losing the heavyweight title to Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 back in 2016, Werdum has tasted failure two times in has last five fights.
At 40-years-of-age, Werdum is getting on and Saturday’s performance in London was further proof that the former champion is well past his best.
However, the Brazilian has silenced any whispers of his retirement – stating in an Instagram post that he will ‘rise’ again and continue on his ‘path of success’.

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ I would like to thank everyone who cheered for me, who sent me messages of support and who are by my side in this difficult moment which is a defeat.
