Holly Holm believes there is the same feeling surrounding next week’s title fight against Cris Cyborg, as there was when she upset the odds against Ronda Rousey.
Holm faces Cyborg at UFC 219 on December 30, with the latter’s featherweight belt up for grabs.
Cyborg is the strong favourite going into the encounter after a 12-and-a-half year undefeated streak and three dominant wins in UFC.
But after Holm pulled off a major upset in inflicting a first defeat on Rousey at UFC 193, the American is hoping that lightning strikes twice.

“I think there are similarities with the feeling of it, and just knowing that people are having a little bit of doubt,” said Holm.
“But I think that because I’ve done this more than once now, in boxing and it’s probably even more seen with Ronda, to be the underdog.
“I think that people think ‘Oh, okay, well Holly is capable of doing some of [these] things’ so I feel like there’s more curiosity behind it.”
